Ninghai County, under the jurisdiction of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, lies between Xiangshan Port and Sanmen Bay, backed by mountains and facing the sea. In 1632, the Ming Dynasty geographer Xu Xiake set out from Ninghai to write his monumental work "Xu Xiake's Travels," making Ninghai the official "Starting Point" celebrated on China Tourism Day.
Natural and cultural attractions: East Zhejiang Grand Canyon (deep gorges, waterfalls, ideal for hiking and rafting), Qiantong Ancient Town (known as the "No. 1 Confucian Town in Jiangnan," with well-preserved Ming-Qing architecture and a八卦-shaped water system flowing through), Wushan Stone Cave (an underground labyrinth formed by 800 years of quarrying), and Ninghai Forest Hot Spring (a national 4A scenic spot, a famous hot spring in East China).
Ninghai is also a major stationery and mold manufacturing base, where modern industry coexists harmoniously with idyllic landscapes.
