The First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine was founded in 1963 and became the first Class-A Grade-3 TCM hospital in Hunan in 1994. The International Medical Department (IMD) was formally established in July 2018, making it the earliest public TCM hospital in Hunan Province to provide premium medical services to both domestic and international clients.
The IMD is located inside the Guoyi Hall on the second floor of the outpatient building, gathering the hospital's top medical resources. Over 100 TCM experts practice here, including Master of Chinese Medicine Sun Guangrong and Xiong Jibo, National Famous TCM Doctor Wang Xingkuan, the renowned gynecologist You Zhaoling, and the celebrated pediatrician Zhang Di.
For international patients, the IMD provides professional English-speaking medical guidance and full-process companion service. Services cover outpatient care, inpatient care, health check-ups, and telemedicine, with direct billing agreements in place with multiple commercial insurance providers.
